Louder Than a Bomb Fundraiser Party

7PM - 10PM

Poetry / Drinks / Music / Food / Film / Silent Auction

Benevolent Media presents Louder Than a Bomb, a fundraiser party to benefit Split This Rock and the DC Youth Slam Team.

Join us at The Dunes for a special evening featuring live performances by D.C.’s best and brightest youth poets, plus excerpts from “Louder Than a Bomb,” an award-winning documentary about the world’s largest teen poetry slam, based out of Chicago.

Funds raised at this party will help stage the first-ever Louder Than A Bomb High School Poetry Slam Festival in the District in June 2012.

A silent auction will feature poetry chapbooks, produced by the DC Youth Slam Team, plus the chance to hire poets to lead private workshops or performances.

Locally-sourced frozen treats, including a custom-crafted “Bomb Pop,” will be provided by Pleasant Pops.

Friday, February 24th
Programming tonight is:

Friday Freakfest

10PM - 2AM

DC peeps:

After a long hiatus, the crew that brought you Halloween at the Dunes is coming back twice as strong. We’ve got twice the dj’s, twice the booze and twice the dedication.

What’s on tap for Freaky Friday Dos:
TWO DJ’s dropping everything from reggae to hip hop to dance and electronic on the Dunes’ banging sound system.
TWO open bars featuring premium beer (Peroni, Lagunitas, Bells), wine and champagne (dry red, dry white, dry bubbly, all proper) and two fancy punch cocktails (vodka punch, whiskey punch).

DJ’s and open bar will run from 10:00pm til close…

We’ve set up a payment link so you can get your open bar ticket in advance. Last time we sold out not TWO, but many days before, so don’t sleep! And like last time, we’re not making a penny on this effort, just trying to get together a great group of people for a great time at a low price.

Tickets are $20 for girls, $30 for guys (guys just drink more). Grab your tickets here.

Hope to see you Feb 24th!

The homecoming culmination of a charmed tour. It’s gonna be full of psychedelic vibrations and good time sensations.
